"Chapi Chapo (Générique)" is cult for a whole generation of French kids born from the late 60's til the late 70's, as it is the theme to a weird psyched-out children TV series typical from the times. The particularity of this 2:45 theme is that it is actually an incredible analogic proto-techno number (we're in 1974), with blissful synth melodies, pre-acid bassline and pre-arcade games sound effects, like a more leftfield French equivalent to Raymond Scott. No wonder it's still a totally cult piece almost 40 years later (cited by the likes of AIR as one of their key inspirations, not excluding the rest of François de Roubaix's high quality output), and no wonder the kids exposed to this would go and play video games, pop pills and organise raves when they reach 20 :)
