Probably the first paintings and poetry of a schizophrenic in Germany (period mid 19th century).
Alida Fehring is born before 1835 and mentally ill (proabably schizophrenic) and therefore in a lunatic asylum. She was forbidden to paint; therefore she used everything that was usable as paper and made the paint herself.
The book documents her paintings & poetry, which are pretty abstract and dadaistic; she developed her own individual surrealistic language and art style.
