NASTY SAVAGE is filed generally under "US Thrash Metal". Their self-titled debut album is not that hard to be called "Thrash Metal"; due to the small and poor production.Not lacking good riffing or song writing material it is just the sound that would fit not with the image or their dramatic live performances.Their second album "Indulgence" was much better, which leaves "Nasty Savage" as a fairly good debut, with high rating amongst fans, but rather weak to the average metal-listener nowadays.From a fans point of view there are no really weak songs on this album and espcially "Gladiator", "Metal Knights" and "Asmodeus" are very strong pieces of good metal music. I saw NASTY SAVAGE on their first gig in Germany in Dortmund and was really kicked by their performance and remain a fan to this day. If there would be a remastered version it would do good to this album. The simple CD-rerelease remains with their weaknesses a medium metal album with some highlights, of course.
