Solo “noodling” Otherwise known as one artist trying to feel gaping holes over the course of an album And you the listener wishing they had a bass player, drummer or trumpet player to go with him as you look for another album to put on through sheer boredom...... Great album if you’re a drummer which 99.9789788% of the worlds population are not. PS- FMP is an outstanding label!

Funky

In the book "Planet Drum: A Celebration of Percussion and Rhythm" Mickey Hart claims that at least 1% of the world population are drummers/percussionists. The book was released in 1991. According this website http://pdwb.de/nd02.htm we had 5 392 939 (x 1000) people on earth in 1991. This would be about 53.900.000 drummers. If only 1% of them would be interested in Schönenberg's drumming than we still have 539.000. This is quite a lot IMO. I guess that most releases do not sell even a tenth of this (more than 98%?).Me too prefer music with at least three or four (or more) active members - but this album is - for me - quite a singular and great achievement/music. But that's a moot point somehow. Schönenberg has left music - to the utter astonishment (if not outright consternation [horror?]) of Günter Christmann - many years ago and dived into more esoteric leanings.And now to a glass of fine wine - cheers ;-)
