Mitars Riders
Yellotone's TAR FILE JUNCTION starts off with the breaks and guitar-infused clattering jazz of "Gailforceporterloucarpenter" before the thick industro-electro of "Crunk" comes in with a little turntablist action. Anything goes on this album (within tasteful reason, of course)! "When We Danced" seems to spiral around itself, punctuated with a nice horn sample, while the percussion and guitars take center stage on "Witterin," before it transitions to a more delicate synth melody. "To Term A Coin" brings in the blues, and a country feel infiltrates "Sinking Spring Farm." And, in a surprising move, "Cool Blue Albion" delves into deep house territory; the harmonic electro of "Grenade Hams," unfortunately, ends up sounding like nothing at all. But "Quench" returns us to the jazz of the start, even moreso. An eclectic and fun listen.
