It's been a while since a release had me this excited, but the B side, Sombrero, is flat out crazy. It's a huge track just in time for the hot summer. The title track, Solarium, is a lot more like the sound Ritch is known for: driving minimal techno with some melodic bits. It's definitely been "made for Drumcode", but what I really appreciate is the blend of Ritch-meets-Drumcode on Sombrero. Starts off with a fat driving beat and just keeps layering on the crazy sounds, fx, and samples. The intro beat dies down two and a half minutes with a bunch of voices taking over, and then the fun starts. The beat comes back and it's even stronger, shifting and morphing throughout. Cycle repeats one more time. It's banging, it's got some dark chords, fantastic samples, and it's Ritch on Drumcode. Hell of a track.
