This is something really interesting. DnB and Jungle always had deep roots in sampling HipHop and Soul. Jungle used a lot of old soul records as the base of many countless classics (e.g. Tom & Jerry's "Maximun Style (Lover to Lover)", etc.) and Liquid Funk uses more or less obvious samples with a filter applied to it.However this is different. This is HipHop styled sample ethics applied to DnB, that would make J Dilla proud. Raw MPC-based sampling of old Soul and Funk Classics (Syl Johnson, The Supremes, Belle Epoque, etc.) with some cleverly programmed classic breakbeats at 160bpm+. I would drop these tunes in a hiphop jam and it wouldn't really sound out of place. It's a shame most liquid funk producers give a damn about their sources and their history. But this shows some big respect to the art of sampling and crate diggin'.Keep up the good work Daniel!
