A mini-ep with some of my favourite songs from La Casa Azul. "Viva (un poco más) el amor" is one of those songs that jumps into the chorus with an orgasmic energy (the chorus jumping into your brain with just the same energy), and whose lyrics, about being in love again with a person that will be harmful but not worrying about that because being in love is wonderful, fits perfectly what it's sounding. The brief motown-esque "Debería plantearme cambiar" sometimes sounds like "You can't hurry love", and indeed sometimes sounds like a remake, but in Milkyway's fashion, it even manages to have a bridge in its very brief length. His cover of (spanish) Family's "Viaje a los sueños polares", in a samba/batucada fashion, is a good landscape of his obsessions: heaven, the last seconds in this song, consists of feel-good chorus from other songs meshed together. Finally, "Como un fan" was my favourite of "Tan simple como el amor", one of his most classic sounding ones - the electronic beats start in the last seconds, as if they were forshadowing "La revolucion sexual" - and the one whose lyrics are the most terrible: a guy telling a girl that he was completely in love with her, like he was a "fan", admiring all her conversations, albums, even trying to change for her, then realizing that after that he lost a lot and he didn't get her... when she comes back years after, he confesses that he will never recover or pass that frustrated relationship. He can't even talk about normal stuff, like sports or the weather, because being with her, just seeing her, is too painful. All of this with the most feel-good music imaginable. An absolute genius. Maybe one day we will all think of him as such.
